Best East Coast beaches to hit this summer

Summer ’26 is shaping up to be the biggest season yet. We pulled our team and store managers together to nominate the beaches we’d drive hours for — from the boardwalk crowds we grew up with to the quiet coves that still feel like a secret.

1. Ocean City, MD Boardwalk

Home base. Still the most complete day on the East Coast — funnel cake, surf, Thrasher’s fries, and the pier at golden hour.

2. Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Wider sand, fewer corners. Great for families, with oceanfront resorts within walking distance.

3. Chincoteague Island

Our quiet recommendation. Bring binoculars for the wild ponies and stay for the sunset over the marsh.
